New Business Admin Assistant.

Recent expansion has created a new opportunity for an efficient and organised assistant to join our New Business team. This entry-level role would be a particularly excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their legal career in the future.

About the Firm:

We are a well-established legal practice and have been operating in Newport since 1887. We have particular specialties in property law; clinical, medical and dental negligence; personal injury; care home negligence; and civil action against the police. We are growing team of approximately fifty people at present, and we have experienced significant growth over the past nine months.

About the Role:

The New Business team is a crucial part of our operations. This role has varied responsibilities including:

· Dealing with incoming calls from clients and numerous establishments involved in conveyancing transactions;

· Making outbound calls to clients to confirm the details of their property transactions;

· Linking incoming post to recently active files;

· Dealing with any queries or complaints from clients or introducers;

· Completing various administrative tasks required to issue the initial documents to our clients; and,

· Ad hoc administrative work as delegated by the line manager(s).

Person Specification:

The right candidate will have:

· A keen interest in legal practice and, ideally, some knowledge of the legal sector;

· Exceptional communication (oral and written) and organisational skills;

· The ability to adapt to a changing environment and use initiative to proactively prevent and solve problems that may arise from time to time;

· Resilience and a positive attitude to dealing with challenges;

· Collegiality and a team-player approach to work;

· The confidence to speak to clients and provide a good customer service;

· Proficiency in all of the standard programmes in the Microsoft Office suite; and,

· A sense of professionalism and excellent personal standards.

Prior legal experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

Conveyancing Assistant.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our friendly conveyancing team.

We are currently looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to work in our office in central Newport (very close to the train station) with lots of free parking nearby!

In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to a conveyancer with their caseload, working at a practice that has a strong reputation. You will have great communication skills and be confident updating clients and getting to grips with our online case management system.

We have recently been certified by CPD for our Paralegal Training and Development Programme, with 3 certified learning and development professionals on site allowing for progression and learning whilst on the job. The successful candidate will be given robust training in residential conveyancing practice via this programme.

The ideal candidate for us will be proactive and switched on, ready to take the initiative and provide substantial support to our very busy legal practice. We are on the lookout for an experienced Assistant, who has a proven experience in the Conveyancing sector.

Roles & Responsibilities

Taking instruction from clients and mortgage lenders and protecting the interests of the same parties;

Following all regulatory requirements and internal policies to ensure quality and compliance;

Creating accounts and records;

Dealing with freehold, leasehold, remortgage and transfer of equity cases;

Conducting and reporting on the results of searches;

Conducting AML CDD checks;

Assisting a fee earner with their investigations on property titles;

Operating the case management systems effectively;

Linking post and dealing with queries by email and telephone;

Managing client and introducer relationships;

Offering general administrative support in a busy conveyancing department.

Conveyancer

Are you forward-thinking, dynamic, and practical?

Are you looking for a new role in South Wales, close to Newport train station with parking nearby? Due to the expansion of our conveyancing team, we have an opportunity for an experienced Conveyancing Executive / Fee Earner.

The main purpose of the job role is to carry a full caseload of registered and unregistered freehold and leasehold matters, in respect of sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity. You will be dealing with clients directly over the phone, therefore great client care skills are essential.

As a firm, we are open in terms of qualification, so whether you are a Property Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, Chartered Legal Executive or qualified by experience, we urge you to apply. You must be able to hit the ground running with a full and varied Residential Conveyancing caseload.
